Merizon Studio: Custom Mirrors

We have recently been using frame materials left over from custom pieces to make face

mirrors of all shapes and sizes. Below are a few examples of what we can do!

If you don't see anything you like, that is no problem. We have all kinds of empty frames

waiting to be utilized as a mirror that fits your decor.

WayneDrops mirror design has been in

existence for several years beginning when

Wayne worked for a glass and mirror

company in Grand Rapids, Michigan,

designing and making mirrors.

Wayne, always conscious of the environment

and an avid recycler, was concerned about

the amount of mirror ending up in a landfill,

and figured out that the scraps could be

fashioned into interesting shapes and designs.

Wayne brought a rain drop shaped mirror home from work one day and the WayneDrops

Mirror was born!

Wayne purchased his own belt sander/grinder, and began fabricating his own mirrors at

home.

To make a mirror, Wayne first purchases sheets of mirror in clear,

black, blue, green, bronze or gray colors.

Deciding what shape he wants to create, he first cuts the piece out roughly with a glass

cutter and then goes in with a nipper or a saw for shaping. The mirror looks like a very

rough version of the finished piece.

The next step is working with the belt sander, which

involves several stages of grinding and polishing with

different belts of different grits, resulting in the final

shapes desired.

The backings are then cut out of a masonite or hard board, primed, painted, and adhered to

the back of the mirror with hardware to hang.

Each mirror comes in it's own box for safe keeping and shipping.

WayneDrops is always evolving with different shapes and designs. Functional mirrors are

the latest, most exciting focus.

Custom ideas are always welcome. Prices will be determined per piece with consideration

of time and materials.

Mirrors, besides being functional, can add ambiance to any room, also creating an illusion

of space and light. The options are endless.

This is one of the latest mirrors by Wayne. It is clear mirror on blue. It measures 7.5 " x 5"

and has two hangers on the back. Clear on gray and clear on bronze mirror also available.
